- Moissanite is a naturally occurring silicon carbide crystal, first discovered in 1893 by Dr. Henri Moissan in an Arizona meteorite crater. Today's moissanite is lab-grown, making it eco-friendly and conflict-free. It's nearly as hard as diamond and has even more brilliance.
